Hello, Dr Kelly here. Today I wanted to discuss Moving!!!
I like to move it, move it, ya like to MOVE IT!!…
Are you dancing yet? Or at least singing it in your head?
If you don’t use it, you lose it… It’s true. We are meant to move.
Have you ever sat down and watched a long movie, then when you go to get up, you are slow to get going? Your joints are a little achy.
That’s right, we are designed to move. To get a little technical. Your ligaments need to move to get nutrients to them.
That is part of what the wall traction is doing. When you squat, hold and release, you are pumping nutrients into the areas of the joint affecting the ligaments around the spine.
You are helping to break up the scar tissue and promote the healing of your body.
Think of scar tissue like bubble gum, all sticky and stringy. It fills in your muscle, ligaments, tendons all around the joints – that’s the spine joints or any joint throughout your body.
Even if you can bend your neck and bring your ear to your shoulder, you need to make sure each bone is working like it is supposed to.
Think back to your first visit in the office. I had you bend your head and look up and down. Or bend your low back side to side. And I took an X-ray.
This allows me & you to see if each bone, the vertebrae, are moving properly.
We are heading into the middle of the winter and moving can be a bit more challenging.
Walking outside is a double whammy. Not only are you moving, but you are also getting the added benefits of nature.
No Gym is needed. If it is too cold outside, there are plenty of ways to move inside!
Do you have stairs in your house? You can step up and down the bottom step & MOVE. You can march in place. You can walk around your house for 10 minutes.
To make it more challenging, add in air squats. Get down on the ground and add 30 seconds or a minute of a plank. Throw in a few pushups. 30 Jumping Jacks.
The goal is to move and get your blood pumping. 30 minutes of day of exercise is most ideal.
But all I want you to do is…..Move it!
You can reach out by responding to this email or text us if you want more info on Moving means for you! Even better, ask me about it at your next visit.
Yours in Healthy Naturally,
Dr. Kelly
